Ijams is proud to partner with CAC Beardsley Community Farm as part of Ijams' 2021-22 Take Action! series to present a Natural Dyeing with Indigo Workshop on January 9 from 6-8:30pm. Participants will join Riley Douglas from the Museum of Infinite Outcomes as she leads students in learning the basic shibori dyeing styles and will get an introduction into the world of indigo. She will be creating a reduction bath using natural Japanese indigo that is grown here in Knoxville, TN at the Museum of Infinite Outcomes. Each participant will need to bring one item of clothing (100% cotton shirt or bandana) or will have the option to buy and dye a Beardsley Farm Shirt.
This workshop will happen at Beardsley Farm (1741 Reynolds St, Knoxville, TN 37921) and the cost of the workshop is $40 per person. Scholarships are available (please email beardsleyfarm@gmail.com to request a scholarship). You must purchase a ticket ahead of time in order to reserve your spot in this workshop.
